Review: Revlon Kissable Balm Stain

Hey, we're back! Sorry we've been away for a while, I (Emily) had a ton of work to finish for my midterms, and then we both went to an anime convention this past weekend!
But we're back now, and posts will be much more frequent from here on out.

So, today I'm reviewing a product that's very popular with the internet beauty community: Revlon's Kissable Balm Stain!

I got it in the color 020, Lovesick.

Not gonna lie, I totally see what the hype's about.

I was very excited to try this, and I set this at a very high standard because of it's popularity.

Upon first opening it, I was a bit offput by the smell. If you don't know, it's a very strong mint-y smell, kind of like peppermint extract, very concentrated and very powerful, which I don't really like and took some serious time to get used to. But, I was very willing to overlook it.

This is really a quality product; quick to apply, smooth and soft texture (doesn't drag on your lips, but doesn't easily break, either), generous color payoff, and this color, along with a lot of the others, would most likely look good with any skin tone!

Also, it does last a long time, and it really does stain your lips!

Before:

After I wiped off the layer of tangible product:

(sorry for the crappy picture, i had to use my front phone camera because the light was making my lips look lighter than they really are)

the only problem is after a little while, the layer of product starts to feel a bit sticky on the lips, so i probably would recommend wiping it off and leaving the stain after it gets to that point if you don't like that feeling!

my overall rating is 8/10

points deducted for the smell and for the eventual stickiness of the product, but i really do like it as a whole!

this can be bought on ebay, amazon, or at Ulta and pretty much any drugstore.

Ren Reviews: L'oreal True Match Super-Bendable Crayon Concealer

Hello, lovely readers! Ren here with a review of my new favorite drugstore beauty product; L'oreal True Match Super-Blendable Crayon Concealer! With a name like that you'd hope it would be something special, and between you and me it is!

Here's a picture of the cute little guy! It also comes with a clear cap, and you twist the bottom of it to get  more product. I love that there's no need to sharpen and make a mess with this concealer! I got it for $8 at Target, and it's pretty much available anywhere L'oreal products are sold!

Why I adore this concealer:

  • The shade I purchased was fair/light n1-2-3, and this is the first concealer that I've purchased that doesn't look too "yellow" on my skin. I definitely won't be going back to my old concealer!
  • The product is extremely easy to blend and apply, as the name states, and really looks natural by itself and helps to create a flawless finish with foundation. It's perfect for those who have never used concealer before!
  • It has a light and creamy consistency, and it doesn't make my face feel like I have tons of makeup on, and perfect for oily skin, unlike most liquid concealers. You have to use only a small amount of the concealer to get the coverage you desire.
  • It has a medium to light coverage, so it's perfect for those who need to cover up those stubborn trouble spots without feeling weighed down by a heavy liquid concealer. And it's easy to build up if you need more coverage, while still looking natural.
  • My favorite thing about this product is that it is perfect to have in your purse for quick fixes!
  • So far I haven't had any problems with this concealer, no breakouts or irritation either!

And that's it folks! Let me know if you try it out and what you think of this concealer. Also please leave suggestions for other drugstore products for me to try out in the comments! I hope this review was helpful, and that you have a fantastic day :)

Stay Beautiful,

First Post and FOTD by Emily

Hi! If you're reading this, congrats, you've stumbled onto a brand new work in progress and not gonna lie, it's probably not going to be perfect for a little while, but soon Ren and I will rule the world!
...Alright, maybe not, but at least we'll look good trying.
Maybe.
But anyway, this first post is just going to be a face of the day from Sunday, because not gonna lie, I looked pretty cute. This may just be a face of the day, but there's going to be reviews, swatches, hauls, and more in time, though, so stay tuned!

Alright, now let's do this thing.

Okay, first of all, it was a Sunday, so I clearly wasn't going anywhere fancy, just for cheesecake and a little bit of shopping.

So it's a pretty casual look, basically my standard eyeliner look with a bright red liquid lipstick and a little bit of cheek color.

Urban Decay 24/7 pencil liner in Rockstar
