BB Creams

Hello everyone! Today I'll be talking about what BB Creams are, which one I use, and American vs. South Korean BB Creams.

When I first starting looking into getting a new foundation last year I stumbled upon a video about something called BB Cream. I was surprised about how many amazing things I heard about the product! BB Creams originated from South Korea, and became extremely popular when all of the stars there began using it. It claimed to  whiten, prevent wrinkles, and generally be a miracle skin cream.  And every person that had it said they loved it! So I decided to go ahead and buy it, and boy was I happy I did.

I bought Skin79's, which is a company based in South Korea, Super+ BB Cream in Hot Pink (it is not available on their website, but it is on Amazon ). I absolutely loved it, and have never had a better  foundation. It offers medium to almost full build able coverage with a really lightweight feel that lasts all day. And while it does give your skin a grey tint at first, once it sets it perfectly matches my skin tone. It comes in a small pump (pictured below) and a little goes a long way! I've had mine for about 9 months now and I use it almost everyday and I have a decent amount left. It also looks great on every other person I've used it on.

Now that I've said all that you may be thinking, "Why would I buy a South Korean BB Cream when I see them at the store all the time?" and my answer to that is most "BB Creams" here in America are nothing more than tinted moisturizers that give you very little coverage. They really shouldn't be used as a foundation unless you don't need any coverage. So far only Smashbox's Camera Ready BB Cream has come close to similar coverage to any of the South Korean BB Cream's I've tried.

I think the biggest issue with South Korean BB Creams is that they really aren't made for darker skin tones. And that's because they're made for Korean skin and there most people have very light skin tones. But here in America we definitely do have better options for darker skin tones, which would be great if the BB Creams weren't as disappointing here.

Overall I suggest Skin79's BB Creams, because they have the best coverage and are less than $20 on Amazon which is a steal!

Thank you for reading, I hope you have a fantastic day!

Stay Beautiful,
Ren <3
